We transport a wide range of non-hazardous goods, including pallets, parcels, furniture, event equipment, office supplies, and more. If you're unsure whether your item qualifies, please contact us for clarification.

What is your policy on damaged goods during transport?

We prioritize your goods safety. In case of damage, report the incident within 24 hours of delivery with supporting evidence, and we will address the issue promptly.

Will you deliver to any floor?

Yes, we can deliver to any floor, provided there is suitable access such as a lift or safe stairway. For buildings without lift access, we may require advance notice, especially for larger or heavier items, so we can ensure proper staffing and equipment. Please mention delivery specifics when booking so we can accommodate your needs.

Can I book a delivery outside of regular business hours?

Yes, we offer flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends, depending on availability. Please get in touch to discuss your specific needs.

Are you insured for damages?

Yes, we are fully insured for goods in transit, public liability, and employer liability. This means your items are covered in the unlikely event of loss or damage while in our care. If you have particularly high-value items, we recommend discussing them with us in advance so we can ensure appropriate coverage is in place.

Is there a minimum or maximum load you can carry?

We specialise in light haulage, so while there’s no strict minimum, we typically handle loads up to 1.5 tonnes. For larger loads, we may be able to arrange alternatives through our network.

About Us

It all began in 1997, when Grandad Paul launched his very first haulage and logistics company — the first independent driving agency in Scotland at the time. As a pioneer in the industry, Paul quickly earned a reputation for reliability, dedication, and sheer work ethic.

After several successful years running the agency, Paul chose to return to his roots — life on the road. From the early 2000s through to 2012, he worked as a self-employed driver, covering shifts for numerous transport companies across the country. These years gave him not only invaluable experience but also deep insight into how the industry truly operates.

During that same time, three future "VanSons" were born— unknowingly being raised around the world of logistics, diesel, and depot runs.


In 2012, Paul launched his second venture: PK Haulage. With a fleet of three vans and one of the Van Sons, Jack, already out on the road, the business quickly built up a loyal customer base. For four strong years, PK Haulage became a trusted name in local transport.

In 2016, after being offered a senior role with a major logistics company, Paul made the decision to step back from self-employment and into full-time work — gaining even deeper experience at a national level.

But now, the story comes full circle.

With all three Vansons grown, experienced, and ready to get behind the wheel — both literally and figuratively — Paul’s original dream of a family-run transport business is finally being fulfilled.


Today, we proudly introduce VanDad & VanSons — a modern light haulage company built on generations of experience, genuine care for our customers, and the timeless values that started it all: hard work, honesty, and a good set of wheels.
